More and more, primary care is being used to address mental health concerns.* At the same time, primary care resources are limited and not growing in pace with increasing demand.**  As a result, physicians in primary care have difficult choices in how to support patients.

Your challenge

You likely have patients with private insurance or other means that can cover psychotherapy, but may not know where they can find high quality, evidence-based private counselling practices. Or maybe you do know where they can go to get effective, private treatment, but then have no communication with their provider until the next crisis happens. You may find yourself encouraging your patients to get help, but are not confident that the treatment will be evidence-based. You may end up referring patients to the public system where waitlists are long and they suffer for months or even years.

My solution

I offer evidence-based modes of therapy focused on specific disorders you see every day.  I offer CBT, ACT, and more for Health Anxiety, Generalized Anxiety, Panic Disorder and Depression.  I also provide Exposure with Response Prevention Treatment (the best standard of care for OCD).

I also provide regular treatment reports to referring physicians.  On intake, I establish consent with patients to provide treatment reports to their family doctor as the referrer.  Within a week of starting treatment, you will receive a treatment report, as well as updates every three months thereafter, as well as a report when treatment ends.  In addition, I am readily available for case consults at no charge when this may be of help to you.
